  • Antonio Affonso Mac Dowell Leite de Castro

    With a law degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) Law School (1989), he previously worked in the legal departments of Banco Garantia S.A. (1989-1993) and Banco Modal S.A. (1995-1996), as well as for the firm Castro, Barros, Sobral Gomes as an associate lawyer (1993-1995) and partner (1996-2008). He practices in the areas of corporate/business law, with focus on mergers and acquisitions, contracts, projects, banking transactions and recovery of distressed companies, as well as in administrative litigation. He has served as a member of the Electric Power Subcommittee of the AMCHAM-Rio de Janeiro, chairman of the Infrastructure Committee of the Brazil-Europe Institute (IBE), member of the Business Law Council of the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro, councilor for corporate affairs of the American Association of Rio de Janeiro and adjunct professor of tax legislation at Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ). Antonio has specialized training from the Program of Instruction for Lawyers of Harvard University, Cambridge, USA (1994) and the IAG Master Program in Business Law at PUC-Rio (1995).

    With a law degree from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) Law School (2000), he started his career at the firm Castro, Barros, Sobral, Gomes Advogados, first as an intern and then an associate lawyer (1998-2004), worked in the legal department of Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (2004-2007), and practiced as a lawyer with Ulhôa Canto, Rezende e Guerra Advogados (2007-2013) and then was a partner with Campos Mello Advogados (2013-2018). Cristiano acts mainly in the areas of corporate and contractual law, with long experience in mergers and acquisitions and foreign investments. He has postgraduate specialization in oil and gas law from the Brazilian Institute of Petroleum/Campos School of Law (2005) and in civil-constitutional law from Rio de Janeiro State University (2004)

    With a law degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) Law School (1997), he was a member of Lobo & Ibeas Advogados as an intern and associate lawyer (1996-1999) and partner (2000-2009), general counsel of OSX Brasil S.A. (2010-2013) and partner with Stocche Forbes Advogados (2014-2017). Marcos works in the areas of infrastructure (with emphasis on the oil & gas and mining sectors) and corporate/business law (with focus on mergers and acquisitions, contracts and projects, banking transactions and recovery of companies). Marcos has a LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School (2003-2004) and worked as a foreign associate at Jones Day in Washington, D.C. and New York, USA (2004-2005).

  • Leila Caldas Vieira da Cruz

    With a law degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) Law School (1996), she also has a LL.M. in tax law from Cândido Mendes University Law School (2004). She formerly practiced law at the firms Daudt, Andrade e Castro Advogados (1993-1998) and Castro, Barros, Sobral, Gomes Advogados (1998-2004). Leila was then legal director for the Bozano Group with the holding company Bozano Participações S.A. (2004-2006) and legal adviser to the president of the Rio de Janeiro State Federation of Commerce (Fecomércio) (2006-2007). She mainly works in the area of tax law, providing consulting services and representing clients in judicial and administrative litigation.
